Guess what? Since we have had a garden, our kids have been taking turns pulling weeds, planting seeds and digging up the soil. It has been so neat to see them working like this on the land. They love to get their toes into the dirt and get it absolutely everywhere. And I mean everywhere!
Well, you know that my husband and I have set a wonderful example (lol) of pulling those weeds, planting seeds and getting dirty!!! My husband has been tilling around all the growing vegetables and keeping it neat and tidy. Now that they have seen their Daddy working with the tiller, they wanted to give it a try. Of course, I was very reluctant to let them, by 'Daddy-O' said they would do fine. After holding on and running that thing up and down the rows several times, I am telling you...THEY SURE CAN! They did great and I'm looking forward to seeing what all comes from their hard work.
I'm going to get a pic of them and post it later...
Today we planted peas and potatoes and then last weekend we also put another row of green beans up. The beans have already sprouted up through the soil and are making their way up to the fencing. I've got some pictures coming...
THE TEACHING TREE
Welcome to the Teaching Tree. We are a homeschooling family and we thoroughly enjoy teaching our children. We count it an honor to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord from the surroundings of our home. Together we strive for excellence in character, life skills and academics, realizing that preparing for life is equipping for the future. Here on this Earth and for Eternity! That's what we love about this. Everyday is school. Whether it's hittin' the books or workin' & playin' hard outdoors we choose to teach and train our children for LIFE.
It's our lifestyle now for their lives tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by and we hope you find our site fun and enjoyable.
