THE TEACHING TREE

Welcome to the Teaching Tree. We are a homeschooling family and we thoroughly enjoy teaching our children. We count it an honor to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord from the surroundings of our home. Together we strive for excellence in character, life skills and academics, realizing that preparing for life is equipping for the future. Here on this Earth and for Eternity! That's what we love about this. Everyday is school. Whether it's hittin' the books or workin' & playin' hard outdoors we choose to teach and train our children for LIFE.
It's our lifestyle now for their lives tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by and we hope you find our site fun and enjoyable.

Gearing up for S-C-H-O-O-L!!

It's been a fantastic summer and although the warm days won't be ending soon, the mellow days of no 'academics' are. Well, kind of! We are gearing up to start back to the days when schedules, time frames, subjects and handwriting are near. Not to mention, math, english, science, history, music, physical education, reading and a few others I'm rounding up for our school year.

Every year about this time, whether we do school during the summer months or not, I look forward to getting their books together, organizing their shelves and cases, reviewing for the first couple of weeks and planning out the school year for my children.

With so many changes the last several months have brought, I'm really needing to be very diligent and consistent with their studies. And with my daily, monthly and yearly planning! Whew!! I must say, sometimes it can feel overwhelming! But all in all it is what I truly love and staying home with my children is what I consider to be one of the best privileges of being a MOTHER. Teaching my children, watching them learn and grow and then allowing them to take the steps into youth and adulthood. It's a wonder that never ceases to amaze me!

I know what you mean..last week I completed the HUMONGOUS task of getting my school room closet organized. Some of the kids books came in last week too...it felt like Christmas to me..lol. I love when their books come in!! The kids of course are not too excited about getting back to the daily grind...we aren't starting back till around the middle of August.

We aren't starting back until the middle of August either. But I like to use the first week or two of August for preliminary work for them and for me.
It is a huge task of getting things in order...ly!
